Wednesday Thoughts in Proverbs | Bible Reading

......

In my Proverbs reading today, 28:26 stood out to me. "He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks wisely will be delivered."

Usually I think about trusting in my own heart in terms of arrogance and pride. But today when I read this verse, I focused in on the fact that I'm sinfully trusting in my own heart just as much when I fall into anxiety and fear, as when I'm being prideful. The one is just as much a sin as the other.

It's also just as debilitating. Pride blinds us, so does anxiety. Fear keeps us from moving forward, so does pride. Satan is trying to get at us however he may!

 And so ... in the struggles you might be dealing with right now, take heart! Christ has overcome this world, and He holds your hand and mine if we choose to walk right before Him. It is the most important thing we will do in this life -- deciding to hold fast to the One who has already fought and died for us.

.......

I hope you have all been having special time with your loved ones this week. This holiday season kind of got away from me, as has blogging ... but I hope to remedy that as we go into the new year!

For now, have a lovely day! ♡

I Close My Eyes

My pray'r, Jehovah, hear to my entreating cry;
In faithfulness, give ear, in righteousness reply.
No God have I but Thee;
Teach me to do Thy will;
Thy Spirit's good;
Lead me on even pathways still.

Because I trust in Thee, O, cause Thou me to hear
Thy loving kindness free, when morning doth appear.
Make me to know Thy way
wherein my path should be;
Because my soul each day
do I lift up to Thee.
