He Giveth More Grace

.........

I've come across this hymn before when I've listened to singing recordings, but I never really heard the words until a version of it came up in my YouTube feed last week. When I actually read and listened to the message, I felt like I'd been hit upside the head with the incredible and incomprehensible love and care of God. So kind. SO full of care for His children. The idea that His provision multiplies the greater the cross - the harder His child's life, the bigger and more awesome His compassion grows - is so beautiful I have a hard time wrapping my mind around it. The great Creator is also (to quote another hymn) our Savior and Friend, and nothing escapes His care. What incredible, merciful love.

He Giveth More Grace

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplies peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

'And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.'

2 Corinthians 12:9
